When I was pregnant, many of my friends who have kids advised me to keep my pregnancy clothes. I refused to believe that I would need them postpartum and threw most of them away. On reflection, I was acting from ego. I had this absurd idea that I would shrink back to my regular size as soon as I leave the delivery room (I blame the social media and my hormones).
Luckily, I kept some of my maternity jeans. Now, the nice thing about maternity jeans is that they have an elastic waist band. This little detail makes them nearly as comfortable as your favorite pair of pajama pants. And more important, they don’t create a muffin top.
Another garment that survived the purge was this green dress. What is nice about maternity dresses is how comfortable they are not only during pregnancy but especially after. I paired it with custom-made patchwork jacket from Zimbabwean designer Zuvva. I could not fit in it when I was pregnant so it is really nice to be able to wear it again. I like this combination because it brings originality and new energy to otherwise simple maternity dress. What do you think?
