In the TRAVEL category, we want to focus on sustainable traveling and ecotourism.

On these pages, you will find photos, blog posts, and videos from our stays in Costa Rica, and Europe.

When our family decided to live more sustainably, I changed my focus from luxury hotels to ecotourism.

Now we choose eco-hotels and more sustainable ways of traveling every time we can. I think it is challenging to change the way we move around because most of us like the comfort of air travel. It is practical, affordable, and time-saving.  But with global warming and other environmental challenges happening, we have to change our habits before it is too late.

In fact, living in Europe makes it si easy, safe, and reliable to travel everywhere by public transport.

48 Hours In Berlin | 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin

CATEGORY: TRAVEL

Several years ago, my friend from high-school and I made a pact that we will once meet somewhere in Europe without our husbands and kids. A few weeks ago, we finally completed the mission. We chose to go to Berlin for a long weekend in November, I was happy to discover that there was the 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin.

Our Stay In 25hours Hotel Zurich West

CATEGORY: TRAVEL
I am wearing a top from a sustainable Swiss brand Avani and Madewell jeans.

A few weeks ago we spent a long weekend at the 25hours Hotel Zurich West. It was the first time we stayed in the 25hours Hotel chain. You can see our experience in the video below.

I really liked that it’s a family- and couples-friendly hotel, located close to the center of Zurich. There is a tram stop right in front of the hotel and the tram will take you to the heart of Zurich in less than10 minutes. There …

Romantic Getaway at The Royal Savoy Lausanne Hotel & Spa

CATEGORY: TRAVEL

Lausanne is one of my favorite cities in Switzerland and that’s why we chose it for our latest romantic getaway.

It’s a beautiful city beaming with young, vibrant energy and rich cultural history. It’s an antidote to stiff and bourgeois Geneva. We come to Lausanne quite often and every time we come back fresh and renewed.

When Chloe-Sofia was at my parents for two weeks in July, we decided to focus on us as a couple and not only as a parent. We decided to spend a romantic weekend at the Royal Savoy Lausanne …

The Lion King and Jungle Festival at Disneyland Paris

CATEGORY: TRAVEL

A few weeks ago we went to Disneyland Paris to participate at the opening of the new season The Lion King and Jungle Festival. It was our first visit to Disneyland Paris, and we loved it.

The easiest and most practical way to get to Paris from Geneva is by TGV, the french intercity high-speed rail service. When, after three hours, you arrive at Gare de Lyon in Paris, you can take a regional train (RER) that will take you directly to Disneyland. It is the quickest way as it takes about 30 minutes (instead of …

Home Away From Home In Hotel Belvedere Grindelwald

CATEGORY: TRAVEL

When we were looking for accommodation, we wanted a hotel that would be family-oriented, have a pool (since Chloe-Sofia loves water), center location and a view of the mountains. Hotel Belvedere Grindelwald ticked all the boxes and surprised us in other areas such as hospitality, client-orientation, spa, and cuisine.

Discover Switzerland – Grindelwald

CATEGORY: TRAVEL

Take a ski lift up to the Grindelwald First summit to enjoy the panoramic view from the First Cliff Walk, sunbath on the terrace of the Bergrestaurant or hike up to the Bachalpsee lake.

If you like to ski or snowboard, the ski slopes and snowparks are full of fresh snow, easily accessible by a ski lift, and suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers (snowboarders).

Irazú Volcano National Park

CATEGORY: TRAVEL

It’s hard to say what I like the most about Costa Rica. There are so many fun things one can do: watching sea turtles lay their eggs on the beach, humpback whales dance in the sea or to swim with dolphins. If you don’t have the time or come at the right period (especially if you want to see the turtles), you can always visit one of the many Costa Rican volcanos. Some of them are very close to the capital and easy to access.

Volcano Irazú is one of them. It’s located above Cartago city (an hour drive from San Jose) and easy to access. I recommend avoiding Sunday as that’s the day for Costa Ricans to visit national parks.

Where to Stay in Monteverde

CATEGORY: TRAVEL

When we were planning our trip to and decided to visit Monteverde, a biodiverse, mountainous region of Costa Rica, I was looking for an environmentally-friendly accommodation. There are many hotels and lodges that support sustainable lodging. The offer varies from treetop lodges to eco-friendly boutique hotels.

we selected Senda Monteverde Hotel- a boutique hotel that promised relaxed setting, modern accommodation, open-air porches and views of the Pacific Ocean.

Costa Rica 2019 Diary – Monteverde

CATEGORY: TRAVEL

Selvatura Park is a nature and adventure park located in Monteverde, Costa Rica. We have visited several natural parks (Arenal Volcano, Irazú Volcano, Poás Volcano, and Manuel Antonio), but the one I was the most excited about was Monte Verde.

We booked our stay in Senda Monteverde Hotel- an upscale boutique hotel that promised relaxed and modern, luxury, open-air porches and views of the Pacific Ocean.

Costa Rica 2019 Diary – Puntarenas

CATEGORY: TRAVEL

We spent our first week at the beach resort in Puntarenas region. We’ve visited Hotel and Club Punta Leona three times already and it is one of those places that seduce you by its location. In close vicinity, you’ll find the sea, tropical forest, animals and picturesque little houses where you’ll stay during your visit. It’s a four-star accommodation which offers everything you need. We always opt for full board (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) because we like the food.
