In the TRAVEL category, we want to focus on sustainable traveling and ecotourism.

On these pages, you will find photos, blog posts, and videos from our stays in Costa Rica, and Europe.

When our family decided to live more sustainably, I changed my focus from luxury hotels to ecotourism.

Now we choose eco-hotels and more sustainable ways of traveling every time we can. I think it is challenging to change the way we move around because most of us like the comfort of air travel. It is practical, affordable, and time-saving.  But with global warming and other environmental challenges happening, we have to change our habits before it is too late.

In fact, living in Europe makes it si easy, safe, and reliable to travel everywhere by public transport.

Irazú Volcano National Park

CATEGORY: TRAVEL

It’s hard to say what I like the most about Costa Rica. There are so many fun things one can do: watching sea turtles lay their eggs on the beach, humpback whales dance in the sea or to swim with dolphins. If you don’t have the time or come at the right period (especially if you want to see the turtles), you can always visit one of the many Costa Rican volcanos. Some of them are very close to the capital and easy to access.

Volcano Irazú is one of them. It’s located above Cartago city (an hour drive from San Jose) and easy to access. I recommend avoiding Sunday as that’s the day for Costa Ricans to visit national parks.

Where to Stay in Monteverde

CATEGORY: TRAVEL

When we were planning our trip to and decided to visit Monteverde, a biodiverse, mountainous region of Costa Rica, I was looking for an environmentally-friendly accommodation. There are many hotels and lodges that support sustainable lodging. The offer varies from treetop lodges to eco-friendly boutique hotels.

we selected Senda Monteverde Hotel- a boutique hotel that promised relaxed setting, modern accommodation, open-air porches and views of the Pacific Ocean.

Costa Rica 2019 Diary – Monteverde

CATEGORY: TRAVEL

Selvatura Park is a nature and adventure park located in Monteverde, Costa Rica. We have visited several natural parks (Arenal Volcano, Irazú Volcano, Poás Volcano, and Manuel Antonio), but the one I was the most excited about was Monte Verde.

We booked our stay in Senda Monteverde Hotel- an upscale boutique hotel that promised relaxed and modern, luxury, open-air porches and views of the Pacific Ocean.

Costa Rica 2019 Diary – Puntarenas

CATEGORY: TRAVEL

We spent our first week at the beach resort in Puntarenas region. We’ve visited Hotel and Club Punta Leona three times already and it is one of those places that seduce you by its location. In close vicinity, you’ll find the sea, tropical forest, animals and picturesque little houses where you’ll stay during your visit. It’s a four-star accommodation which offers everything you need. We always opt for full board (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) because we like the food.
