What does self-care mean to you? The more people I asked the bigger variety of answers I received. As far as I can say, self-care means taking care of your mind as well as the physical body.
Since I became a mom, I neglected taking care of myself. I felt guilty and selfish for not spending enough time with my family and self-care requires that you have to focus on doing things that help you remain well, healthy and in peace. And as that means (most of the time) doing things by yourself, I didn’t give myself permission to do it.
Until I got so tired that I couldn’t even write and lost all motivation to keep this blog and my Youtube channel alive. And it was at this moment when I realized that I had to stop, re-evaluate what I was doing, what where my goals and what impact I wanted to make on people. The answer was simple: I want to make people happy when they visit my social media, I want to make them feel accepted, included and perfect. I don’t want create competition, jealousy, show off and make people feel left out and not good enough.
But if I don’t want people to feel that way, I have to lead by example: I needed to start taking care of myself, alas practice self-care. I am not going to go into details since you can find out more in my video but what I would like to stress is that self-care is about YOU. I am sharing my tips. If different activities make you happy, do them. Self-care is about listening to your intuition, following your heart and being truthful with yourself. So with a lot of love and wishes of peace, I say goodbye for today and wish you a wonderful day.
