Today I am wearing my favorite floral dress with DIY embellished handbag. I teamed one with one of my favorite bloggers – Selma from LaSelmaStyle. Selma is based in NYC and does this type of collaboration quite often. I think it is an amazing idea to promote a fellow blogger.

She suggested that we customize the same piece of clothing or an accessory in our own way. Considering that we live on different continents, find the same handbag available in Switzerland and the U.S.A. was quite a challenge.

I got this handbag on sale in Mango. Seeing its simplicity, I decided to give her a new life. I am a big fan of embellished bags, shoes and jackets. And acrylic gems are both affordable and easy to find in stores.  All you need is an all-purpose glue, a packet of acrylic gems and your old clutch. Make sure that the glue is suitable for the clutch. Mine is made of faux-leather. I got the glue in a do-it-yourself department of our local COOP (Swiss department store). Once you glue the acrylic gems, let it dry for 24 hours.

It is a simple and budget-friendly way of updating an old piece of clothing or an accessory that would otherwise rot in the corner of your closet.  And just between us, if you know where to find studs for an affordable price, please, do share. My next project includes an old leather moto jacket, a knife, and … that is all that I am going to reveal right now.

Have a wonderful Tuesday and don’t forget to link up below! And for my other DIY project, visit HERE.
