Happy Monday, everyone!
How was your weekend? We woke up on Saturday, looked out of the window and saw the first snow of this season. Everything around our house was white, crispy and it finally felt like winter had come. We took the opportunity to take these photos in the woods above our village. This look is a mix of my favorite Swiss designers, one of them is Vanja Jocic who I met not so long ago in Geneva. She uses traditional couture techniques to handcraft unique hats and head-wear. She is a milliner per se – every piece is custom-made and handmade. I visited her home atelier to document the whole journey of hatmaking. It is truly enlightening and makes you see hats in a new way. I can’t wait to share it with you later this week.
The rest of our weekend was filled with highs and lows: visiting friends, having the best Saltimbocca alla Romana ever and running to the ER with Chloe-Sofia on Sunday afternoon after she lost her voice and could not breath. It is a mild croup and according to the doctor, there is nothing we can do to help her. In addition to that, she is teething. It is really frustrating when you can’t help your child. It makes you feel really helpless. Even if we were told that it is not serious and she will get better soon, it is still hard to see her suffer.
