Love it or hate it, metallics are everywhere. Unless you spent last months few months hidden under the rock, you have already noticed.

At first, I was trying to ignore it. I pretended I did not care. I saw it on daily basis on social media and my favorite fashion blogs who embraced this trend with passion. Thus, after seeing metallic pleated skirts, metallic mini dresses, metallic ankle boots and metallic handbags ad nauseum, I began to like it. And I ended up buying metallic pleated skirt. As soon as I got home, I realized I had a problem. I did not know how to wear it! It seemed too opulent, over the top and kitch. I started looking for inspiration on Pinterest, which helped me a lot, and slowly started to wear it. First on the weekends, now I dare to wear it to work.

When I was invited to style this metallic jacket, I embraced the challenge. My first idea was to wear it over black overall and heels. As much as it was a great idea (the jacket would stand out), it was too easy and predictable. In the end I decided to pair it with blue jeans and OTK boots to create a look that is totally different from my usual style.

It was fun shooting it because I did not feel like me at all. I was stepping into skin of somebody else. I felt like one of Charlie’s Angels. Like Lucy Liu…now I just need to find an a** to kick:

“Good morning, Charlie.”
