If there is one material (besides cashmere) to which I have been faithful for years, it is pima cotton. I discovered it some time ago when I was in New York. I went to Barney’s, got some simple layering t-shirts, left the store and when I realized how much I spent I wanted to bring them back. Luckily, I did not have enough stamina to do that because over the years they became my wardrobe staples. They carried me through pregnancy and did not loose they shape unlike my other t-shirts from regular cotton. If you talk to anyone who works with pima cotton, they will tell you that it is softer and more durable than regular cotton thanks to its extra long staple.
So you can understand how excited I was when I discovered Design Cotton, a Swiss brand that offers baby clothes made of premium Peruvian pima cotton. They are very soft which makes them ideal for newborns and babies. Some of their pieces are embellished with hand embroidery made by Peruvian artisans who also produce knitted booties, hats and toys. They would make a perfect Christmas gift if you want to give an adorable present to someone who has a small baby.
What I like about this brand is that it offers real affordable luxury (sounds like an oxymoron, right?). Besides exlusive qualities of pima cotton, dainty prints and delicate embroidery, the clothes are perfectly finished. Their reversible sets are incredibly practical because you get two outfits in one. Chloe-Sofia is wearing them in today’s pictures. You can mix and match the clothes easily because they are all in the same theme- no flash colors, prints or tops with messages. They are minimalist and utilitarian, super cute and classic.
