Slowing Down With Slow Âge

CATEGORY: BEAUTY

Slow Age Vichy / anti-ageing face cream

Two months ago I signed up to test new Vichy product Slow Âge. A face cream that slows down apparition of aging by addressing directly the root of the problem. Most face creams concentrate on making lines and wrinkles less visible. Slow Âge, on the other hand, aims to slow down their formation. And to do so, Vichy has enlisted help of three anti-aging agents:

Vichy’s mineralizing water– to hydrate the skin.

Bifidus which fortifies the skin and makes it less sensitive.

Extract of Baicaline root. Baicaline is a flower that grows in China and has been used in Chinese medicine for more than 2000 years. It has impressive anti-oxidant, anti-ageing and anti-UV qualities.

One of the main requirements that I have when I am choosing a day cream is UVA/UVB protection. I am still amazed by the number of face creams that don’t contain SPF. Sun rays are one of the main causes of ageing besides civilization stress, poor diet, age and our own genes.  That is why I really like that Slow Âge has SPF25.

It has a clean, soft perfume, light texture and gets absorbed very quickly.

I use the cream daily in the morning after applying Aloe Vera serum. Another positive detail- Slow Âge does not contain parabens and is hypoallergenic. My skin is very sensitive and I did not get a single break out when I switched to Slow Âge. Usually my skin reacts very aggressively so I was relieved that I did not look like a teenager the following day.

What I like about Slow Âge is its different approach to ageing. Instead of talking about fighting wrinkles, combating age and using other cliché narratives, it asks us to slow down. Look inside yourself and get to the grain, which completely resonates with my own life philosophy: instead of trying to change others, change yourself first.
