This look is a typical mixture of colors that reflect autumn, fallen leaves and my current mood. While I am living in boring black, grey and navy blue most of the week, when weekend arrives, I need some color. It may seem a bit psychedelic at first glance but hey, we all need to spice our lives up a bit, don’t we?
The skirt is from Ginger Mary. It is a South African brand that I love for they use color and bold print in original and daring way. Most of the clothes that I have from them are light, summer tops and dresses. This skirt is made from thicker cotton and it has a bit of lycra which makes it super comfortable.
I like this skirt because it flatters my newly found hips- courtesy of pregnancy and giving birth. Unlike pants, skirts are much easier to style when your body changes. Even if I can fit in my old jeans I can hardly zip them up. My hips got wider and as Shakira would say: they don’t lie. I will have to start wearing different brands of jeans and pants. Those that are made for hourglass body shapes. But I will not complain, I always found Jennifer Lopez super sexy and feminine.
I paired the skirt with Hunter wellies, Burberry coat and pulled my hair into a ponytail to make it all look more polished. It is not a typical outfit that I would wear on a rainy Sunday afternoon but it is colorful and fun. And that is what I needed on that gloomy day.
Ginger Mary skirt, Burberry trench coat, COS sweater, Wolford tights, Hunter rain boots, Massai earrings from Kenya.
