[/wc_column][wc_column size=”one-half” position=”last”]If there was a rule on new-mom gifting, I would definitely push a voucher to a spa or a custom-made jewelry on the top of the list.

Talking from the experience, between the oohs and aahs that are reserved for the baby, people forget the mom, who at this stage is still exhausted from the labor, sleep deprivation and not in her skin. So be kind and offer to clean the house, cook some good old hearty dish or watch over the baby. Being able to catch up on her sleep, taking a long, hot shower or getting a massage could be the one thing that will make all the difference.[/wc_column][/wc_row]

As much as I agree that you can never go wrong with traditional gifts like diapers, set of onesies, pajamas, swaddling blankets, calming massage oil, teething toys, stuffed animals, baby books or baby monitors, I also think that we should not forget the parents.

And if during all that house cleaning and cooking you won’t find time to run around the stores and look for gifts, Baby Gift Box (La boîte à cad’Oh) may be just the right idea. Take your pick from rich variety of baby essentials carefully chosen by Valentine and Johanna, creators of La boîte à cad’Oh, who are mothers themselves. Most of the products are natural and handmade, made in Switzerland and suitable or a newborn and the first months of his life.

Cute and cuddly, handmade stuffed animal ( “doudou” in French) will make every baby smile. At 4 months, Chloe-Sofia has already her favorite doudou that she likes to cuddle in her sleep.

pacifier holder/La boîte à cad'OhGirly and fun: teething pacifier holder made of silicone. It does not contain any BPA, phthalates or lead.  It will come handy when the baby starts teething.

When Chloe-Sofia suffered from colics, soft belly massage several times a day helped her a lot. This baby massage oil is made of natural essential oils (all of them Bio) such as Jojoba, Lavender, Chamomile and Petitgrain oil.

wash cloth baby /La boîte à cad'OhLooking for insanely soft washcloths? Don’t look any further- these bath time essentials are made from Tencel (sustainable fabric, regenerated from wood cellulose) and organic cotton flannel. How cute that elephant print is?

They can be used as reusable cloth wipes as well: dry (with cleaning lotion) or wet (in order to keep them warm, you will need wipe warmer and wipe solution concentrate). Before Chloe-Sofia was born, we planned to use cloth diapers but it did not work for us.

When she got a diaper rash, we decided to switch from disposable wipes to cloth ones. I prefer the dry method, using this lotion that I got to know at the maternity hospital.

soap_La boîte à cad'OhHandmade natural soap contains macerated Calendula and Shea butter and has a biodegradable package. It is moisturizing and suitable even for the sensitive skin of newborns. I started using it on Chloe-Sofia and as her skin feels so soft, I decided to get one for myself.
