You may have noticed that I wear off-the -shoulder tops and blouses all the time. I keep featuring them again and again because they are my favorite this summer. Not only are they in fashion, they are also universally flattering.
Bare shoulders are very seductive. Don’t you think? I think that much more than naked back or side split skirt or dress. My rule is: if the top is bare, cover the bottom and vice versa. It is an art of balance. That’s why you’ll see me matching off-the-shoulder tops and blouses with midi-skirts, culottes, loose pants or skinny jeans.
But when I go out, I prefer wearing dresses. And as I am so much into anything off-the-shoulder right now, I was looking for a black off-the-shoulder dress. Why black?
Because I am more self-conscious about my belly and hips. And black makes anyone look thinner. I may have not reached my ideal weight yet BUT as they say, I can fake it till I make it.:-)
What type of dress was I looking for? Simple and comfortable. Classic and elegant. If I can’t wear it for more than one season, I am not interested.
I found that “perfect dress” few weeks ago in Esprit
. It is black, very light and airy. A perfect dress for hot summer days. It does not wrinkle which is a major plus. Now when I have a baby and less time on my hands, I look for clothes that are “easy-care”. You can wear this dress with heels and denim jacket for the night out or with sandals or ballerinas during the day.
How would you wear it?
