POSTNATAL ESSENTIALS

CATEGORY: FASHION

maternity/ maternite/ postnatal/ blog mamanThe closer I get to my due date, the more tips I get from my friends on what I should use after our baby girl is born. I started buying the items that were more pricey slowly, one or two per month to distribute the total cost evenly. Besides your usual suspects such as a breast pump or breastfeeding tea, my friends recommended some of these postnatal essentials:

  1. Aden and Anais muslin swadling blankets. They are quite expensive but super soft and durable.
  2. Silverette nursing cups– a silver alternative to nursing pads. If you live in Geneva, you can find them in Au Berceau d’Or.
  3. Belly Bandit– an elastic belt that helps to shrink down your belly to its pre-pregnancy size. I got mine here.
  4. Miracle blanket– it is a swaddle blanket which I plan to start using right after birth. I got one in natural beige and one in garden pink.
  5. BabyNes– This is actually the first item that we bought. Although I plan to breastfeed, we got this machine in case I will not be able to. It helps you prepare the formula and saves your time.
  6. Lalabu Soothe Shirt – an alternative to BabyBjorn baby carrier. I borrowed BabyBjorn (it is the version with an infant insert)  from a friend to see if our baby will like it.
  7. Babycook – we received ours from friends.
  8. Cocoonababy– Some of our friends swear by it, others prefer swaddling the newborn. We borrowed the Cocoonababy from friends to make our own opinion.
  9. White noise – I really like The Happiest Baby on the Block book. Their White Noise CDs should help your baby to sleep better.
