This is one of my typical maternity outfits: fitted, soft jersey dress and a red vest that covers my tights. At this stage, I appreciate any piece of clothing that covers the parts of my body that I feel conscious about. I know that until I give birth I have to accept that I put on weight and that it is normal during pregnancy but it is not easy. When you can’t fit in a pair of pants that were huge 6 months ago, you do feel self-conscious. On the other hand, it is just few more weeks and my body will start getting back to my normal size. And although I don’t like the size of my hips, swollen legs and bigger feet, it is temporary and for a good cause.
Today is a special day- it is my last working day before I go on maternity leave. It is a bittersweet feeling- after working full-time for so many years, I can’t imagine being at home for several months. I wonder how many calls I will get from the office in the first weeks. And maybe everything will go well and my colleagues will adjust very quickly. That would be nice. In the end, they don’t say that everyone is replaceable for nothing, right?
