Hi everyone! This is probably the shortest dress you will ever see me in. I picked it up for its beautiful, violette print, and noticed its length only after I put it on. It is made of silk georgette that is so soft that you can hardly feel it on your skin. To make it more winter appropriate, I wore a grey, cashmere jumper over it. I love its extra long sleeves, which seems to be en vogue this winter.

I chose to feature this dress because of the story behind it. It is from a ready-to-wear collection of a London-based  company Beautiful Soul.  What I like about this label is its commitment to creating fashion in an ethical and conscious way without compromising on quality and luxury.

Lately, I came across several designers who approach fashion in a different way than high street brands. I am not going to belittle fast fashion here- I also wear and feature on the blog clothes from H&M and Zara. What I wanted to share with you, on the other hand, was that I decided to change my approach to fashion- buy less and “recycle” what I already have. I also began to move towards brands that produce clothes in a more ethical and conscious manner.  It is a slow process because the clothes are more expensive. What I noticed though, is that I act more consciously- I think long before I purchase anything and look for the story of the brand.

What is your opinion on fast fashion versus conscious fashion?
