white ruffle blouse/ currently wearingThe other day I left work on time, managed to catch an early train expecting that I will pick up Chloe-Sofia from daycare by 6pm. I arrived to the train station (which is 3 KM away from our village), but the local train, that I was supposed to take, broke down. There was no taxi around and I had 30 minutes before they close the daycare. Alex was on a business trip so I had to walk. Luckily, our daycare is only 5 minutes walk from our house so I just needed to get to our village as soon as possible.

While I was walking I felt angry, helpless and frustrated. And for reasons that I can’t explain, I decided to listen to one of Melissa Ambrossini‘s podcasts.

One of the first sentences that reached my mind was that in every situation we have two 2 options: either you accept it or try to change it. All I could do at that moment was to accept my reality of walking home. I had no other choice. I had to surrender. She also mentioned gratitude as a catalyzer of change. I looked around and saw roses in the garden that I was passing by, blue sky, beautiful Lake Geneva and started feeling grateful for being healthy and able to walk.

If you feel down, helpless and lost, find something you can be grateful for. Simple act of gratitude, when practice regularly, can turn your life around. I have a sticker on my computer screen at work which says: “I Am Grateful For…” Most of the time I am grateful for being healthy and sane. I know there is much more I can be grateful for but without health and sanity we can’t do much.

I am sure that right now you can find at least one thing you can be grateful for. What would it be?

The older I get, the more grateful I am, but I have been particularly grateful since my little girl was born. Every day is a blessing!

Such a lovely post and message babe! Couldn’t agree more that we either can accept something or change it. Often it’s just about seeing the positive, being grateful and change what you don’t like about it. Have a lovely weekend babe! Xx

Thank you, Laura. The Furla Mini Metropolis is an amazing bag but a bit small. If you want a handbag that fits your wallet, I recommend getting the regular size.:-) Big hugs

First off, I’m sorry you had to go through such an inconvenience, I can imagine how frustrating that must have been at first. I love that you caught yourself and turned your attitude around with the prompting of her podcast, it’s amazing the power our thoughts can have on our emotions, isn’t it?! You’re right, there is always something to be thankful for and when we purposefully challenge ourselves to highlight those things, it puts everything into perspective. As for your outfit, I love those pants, the red lace details are so pretty and I love that red lippie on you! Thanks for sharing, beauty, and I hope you’re having a great week so far!

I do feel that as a society, we tend to focus on the bad things that happen to us rather than all the good things we are blessed with. I totally agree with you. We should be grateful for all the things we have in life. It makes life so much easier and happier!
