Hervé Léger Spring Summer 2016 collection was presented at New York Fashion Week yesterday. Lubov Azria remained faithful to its signature body-con style even though she did not present any bandage dress this time. The runway was full of tight mini-dresses with cut-outs, studs and graphic prints (some of them futuristic enough to make me think of spaceships and Sigourney Weaver in Alien).
For those who are not comfortable with flaunting their body in a barely-there attire, structured separates could do. I loved the idea of tops and sleeveless mini-dresses paired with pants that hug the tights but remain loose from the knee down. And let’s not forget that pants are something new at Hervé Léger!
Besides several elements of surprise (absence of bandage dresses and introduction of pants), there was a lot of elegance, ultra femininity and easy attitude that made Hervé Léger what it is today: a contemporary, 30-year-old brand, run by a woman that knows what women want.
