A Ma Fille/ Currently Wearing

Coat and silk blouse: Lanius (available in À Ma Fille); Jeans:  Les Racines du Ciel (À Ma Fille); Fur hand muff: vintage; Necklace: gift from my parents (similar style).

Today I am wearing a straight, oversized wool coat from Lanius. An ethical fashion brand that I discovered in À Ma Fille. It is a cute, little boutique in Rolle that carries only ethical and sustainable luxury fashion brands. I like their selection so much that I decided to return there to create more looks from their current collection.

You have already seen an elegant, sporty look with Back Label sweatpants & Claudia Paz sweater (here), romantic, a silk dress from Beautiful Soul (here) and a beautiful cashmere sweater from Villa Gaia (here). What I like about these brands is that being fashion-conscious does not mean being out-of-fashion or wearing unflattering clothes.

The other day I discovered a Zero Waste Home . It is a personal blog documenting a waste-free lifestyle of one family. I was inspired by some of the tips on how to lower your waste. Although I really like the idea of using reusable bags, jars and bottles for shopping, I am not sure how it would work in Geneva. In practice, you bring them with you to a store and fill them up yourself. The fact is, that the stores around here are not equipped for that yet.

On the other hand, we already do some of the things that they recommend: buy fruits and veggies at our local farm, use cloth napkins instead of paper ones, recycle, make compost and reuse plastic bags. And with the zero waste tips it will be much easier to do more.  We will just go step-by-step. I do not aim to become an antisocial fanatic.

And what about you? Do you take any measures to lower your waste and live more sustainably?
